I found a $5000 chip at one of the casino's. They would not let me cash it in. They said they track all the high dollar chips and if I didn't know who it belonged to they couldn't cash it out. Do you think that I could play a table with the chip and try to cash it out that way?
I'm no casino security expert, but since you ALREADY tried to cash it once, they now have YOUR picture from that failed transaction. I would go to the cage, ask to speak with a supervisor, hand them the chip and ask for a buffet as a token of their appreciation. Tell them when and where you found it, and perhaps they will be able to find out who it belongs to. I am quite surprised they let you just walk away from the cage with that chip.

They will call over the intercom and ask if anyone has lost a casino chip in the casino and please come get it. And if the casino can't find them, they won't keep the profit but will donate the money to a worth wile charity.
